Oh wow, the idea is great! !! ! !!! !!

I think the composition is a little strange, i have this wierd sense of not being able to focus.

Thanks guys!!! Very nice comments!
Monday morning I'll upload a less-compressed image; that's why it looks out of focus I think... About the composition; maybe the image doesn't completely fit in your monitor, I'll check out the composition lines and upload a smaller image too.
Have a nice weekend!

It's a nice sunny day outside, the light is filtering in through the window giving the room a nice warm feeling.

To really convey loneliness, desolation, isolation, I'd suggest changing the outside scene to an overcast grey - maybe an industrial wasteland, and bleed as much colour out of the room as possible.

I get the sense you are trying to convey the sense of age and decay along with the overall theme of loneliness. You might want to work on this a bit more with the walls, floor and items in the room.

Cheers

Kuranda, You got it!

There is a world out there, but you are not. The old man has gone before life itself.
I don't wanted to put so amount of sadness; world is great! but there is nothing left for him.

Great idea to let only his shadow be visible ^0^

There are 2 things that bug me:

1: the composition: you don't see the reflection and the shadows/smoke in one look, i had to look several times before i knew what was going on in the pic

2: The warm light: it's a lovely sunny day it might be a bit too nice. Or you could use if for contrast, for example kids are happily playing in the sun, and he's sitting in a mostly dark, worn-out gray room.

Keep it up

1- That's the idea; I don't like to let it simple, I want viewer to make a little effort.
2- About the warm light; the intention is to mean that he have already give up in life, it was beatiful for him, but any more.

Great Close-Ups.

I don't think it's too sunny at all. It kind of makes me think of my grandparents back in Mexico, awaking early in the morning to sit and absorb the sun. At least they still have each other.

But anyway, 2 things bother me:
1. The floor is too squeaky clean, there must be a cleaning person, or ghost taking care of it every day.

2. Being an empirical, rational, physics kind of guy, the reflection on the window seems misplaced. It looks more of a perpendicular (90º) projection. The real reflection would be more to the right of the window, and probably out of the image.

Yeah, the floor is really a problem, But I love how it reflects him!

And about the window's reflection; It's not a Photoshop compositing; Lightwave in its own render gives me that image in that place; so I suppose that it is correct in fisics matter... I don't know, maybe you get confused because of the lens angle; it is wide, not as a fish eye, but it is not the default. As you can see, it has a "far away" feeling.

Thanks for everyones comments!!!, I'm learning a lot from here in CG Talk, You're truly the best!!...

Because this Forum (Evocative) is almost empty I'll be uploading here my images, which certainly are created with no technical perfection but heart feelings and artistic neads.

Sorry, my english isn't very good :P

Hi!
I think you should make the reflected skeleton less visible and the in-house in-chair "shadow" a LITTLE more visible. Maybe less fog too, to really play on the subtleness (you are after all working with shadows here..)
Also, ease up on the tile reflections, you want it to look old, right?
I'm also getting the feeliing that there's something off about the camera angle, but can't put my finger on it - getting some kind of vertigo from it :1
Also, I'd loose the wall picture, but that's probly just my taste..

It's going to be a real nice picture thou, keep tweaking

Hi there

The room is so good with
excellent light distribution,
soft colors, but still saturated enough.
Very original idea about the old man's shadow.
Like when the old people dye, there soul still remains present where ever they lived, in what ever they touched - forever.
Beautiful work.

I'm glad to read this posts!! I'm really happy, but 'm sorry I can't do more tweaking; I'm having lots of work, It is difficult also to find time for the machineflesh...
Finally, this image is in the Exposé II entries , that's why enhanced it in november...

...Well, maybe the shadow should be more obvious, so after tweaking:
