Concept Sketch: my alien landscape sketch

i've only got less than a week to do this but i'll give it a go anyways. this is a sketch and general idea for the alien landscape. unlikely but i hope this gets done before the deadline.

Modeling: modelling

an early attempts at modelling the landscape.

Texturing: surfacing

here i have tried various surfacing. much of the image is generated through displacement maps. i have since decided against any reflections because they just take too long to render.

Lighting: lighting

i decided to light this as plainly as possible mostly to save time and because the hypervoxel shapes were taking their toll on my computer.

Rendering: render

the render looks pretty crap. i was planning on fixing the colours, & lighting effects in post.

Concept Sketch: comp

after about 30 mins of photoshopping. this is what i got. i rerendered the image of the planet. and comped it in and replicated it in 3 places. added various lighting effects. i'm relatively happy with it and i have no time to mess with it anymore.
