Hello Everyone -

I just wanted to let you know that our production company Rapscallion Collaborative is looking for a dark and interesting 3d animated short to show at the beginning of our movie "KatieBird*Certifiable Crazy Person." The short should be edgy, scary, horrific, etc. because it is going to be kicking off our disturbing movie. Final submission is Mid April and for more information on our film and the contest you can visit www.katiebirdthemovie.com. The winner of the contest will have their short attached to our film and will go with it into global distribution. Hope to hear from you soon and can't wait to see your submissions.
I hate to be the one to bring this up but, whatever happened to the Sideshow Challenge?

Maybe I missed something but…

When are you going to announce the winners?
I know there was not going to be a prize, but I still though the winners were going to be announced.

I know I am not the only one who wants to know… I have received some Private Messages from others in the contest asking the same question. One even said that they contacted Leigh about the problem/question.

If I messed something somewhere could some one please point me to where it says the winners, or to the thread that says there will be none.

Just curious…

I'm really waiting for the next challenge, and I wonder if there will be one... Since I didn't really understand why all dissappeared in this section. So here's one simple question : When will be the next challenge, if there's one ?

Here is an idea,
Is it possable to make the animation challenge theme follow the chracter theme? ie. month 1-2 a carnie chracter challenge then, month 3-4 the animation challenge would be Sideshow Accidents, maybe this could carry on to the gaming one as well?
I just thought it would be good to build characters for a challenge then then move on to having them move around in the Animation challenge.
All this from some one who has yet to 100% finish a challenge to date
Has anyone thought of this before?
Wadda ya think?
"""Hi guys, this is an announcement in regards of the future of the cgchallenges, Leonard and myself haven't been too please with how the challenges are losing it's "essence" due to entrants lack of acknowledging the rules currently setup.

We're in the process of revamping these challenges, the formalities of them and putting the entire thing on a whole new level. Expect to see some drastic changes for our next challenges and on.

As a side note, there will be NO prizes given this month, as the turnout was rather low judging from the amount of people who actually follow the simple rules we setup and placed their entries on the challenge site.

Stay tuned... """

Honestly it is a little confusing as to what the rules are... simple or not.. it wasn't until after I had started that I realised I needed to add mine entry to the cgchallenege website. It would probably help to email contestants with updates and reminders of the rules. I would probably also make sense to check in with all contestants at some point and make sure they are on track.

I was really jazzed about this challenge too..

OK, I just got this in. Sorry about the lack of any presentaion, but I just got in under the wire. Their was about 3 minutes left on the clock, and I had been working all the way up to it. I really overestimated my abilities to quickly lay out UVs

Anyway, thanks for the encouragements and good luck to everyone!
Hi! Been busy working on the development of Silo, but it looks like I get a day or two to actually play with the software. Thought I'd take a stab at the challenge. One day isn't much time, and I'm more of a programmer than an artist, but I'll give it a shot.

My character: Frogface, a rather unfortunate young girl with a biiiiiiiggggg smile.

Poor girl, starts out looking like this:
(very quick head made for the challenge following Wiro's tutorial)

...And gonna end up looking like this:

Wish me luck!

Hi guys, just a gentle reminder, please use the cgchallenge website to index your entries. Looking at the amount of entries here and the amount entered on the site it doesn't quite add up It helps you and me at the same time.

It only takes 2mins or less
