Seems that baking illumination through the Physical renderer is not supported in R14.
Just came across this idea in a forum and thought I'd share the very simple Python tag with you guys. It allows you to offset an object using the same parameters as the modeling axis tools while the actual axis of the object stays at the same position. It works for all objects that generate geometry. This means, it only works for parametric objects like a Cube, Sphere, Cloner, Profile-Spline, whatever. But not for polygon objects.

Resulting editor display on a Cube primitive:

There's one flaw though: If you have the bounding-box display enabled in the viewport, the BB will stay at the original position while the geometry is moving.

Save it in your content library and paste it on any object you need it. Have fun!

Hi all,
I am looking for a way to make a simulation of CNC milling operation
I tried to make it with booleans but it was too complicated, the problem is that I need to make the milling tool hide the area that it is working on, I had an idea to use voxels or something similar to give the mold real volume and make the tool "kill" the voxels that are hit by the tool, but I have no idea how to make it happen (maybe realflow or Dpit EFFEX).
I saw a few simulations that were made inside CATIA but the client want something more attractive then CATIA simulation.

If you are not familiar with this area you can see some examples in this youtube link:
I am doing a landscape that should be about 4 million polygons but can not get "SPREADscape" show me more than 1 million.
Please Is this a limitation of the plugin or is there any way to get more than 1 million polygons?
Somehow this has always eluded me in c4d. A simple problem:

If I have two objects that are 100% in scale size and drop one into a null - then scale that NULL to 50% -

Shouldn't I be able to drop the second object in that null, hit PSR reset and have it scale down to 50%?

Isn't it the null I'm scaling and not the object? So, in my mind everything inside it should scale down if I reset the scale. Always confused me as it does work that way with Position and Rotation - just not Scale?

Ultimately I work a lot where I an rotating, positioning AND scaling objects via a master null - then want to drop stuff into that null and have 'em line up rotationally, positionally AND scale...lly... I can do all but the scale part - sup sup???

Any way of achieving this?

TIA,
Hi

Im currently working on a project where I use a 4 cylinder engines internals (cylinder and valves) where I want to show the air fuel mixture comes in and get compressed and explodes then pushed out. This have to be repeated and also keep up with the acceleration and decreasing speed of the motor.

At the moment Im a bit stuck in how to do this in the best visual way.
I have tried a demo of Turbulence FD but it have its limitations in the way of containing the fumes in the cylinder casing and pipes. What I manage it cant be done.

I have a link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpDNjGVzTKs to a nissan commercial at 1.27s I think they visualize it quite well.
or
this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzB...ature=endscreen at 4.09 but it have to look better then this.

Can it be solved with thinking particles or other simulation softwares?
I can buy a software or plugin if necessary that is not an issue just need to get a good effect.

I have Cinema 4D R14 Studio

If someone have an idea that would be great!
I have an imported (alembic) plane that contains baked P & R keyframes. I notice the scale is not equal. So if I child an object to the plane, it's naturally getting distorted the same as the plane.

How can I get the animated plane's scale back to 1,1,1 (or at least all 0.365 in this case)? Freezing transforms doesn't seem to have any effect on the children.
Hi all,

Anyone know of a solution for friction based vertex maps?

Example: A car wheel spinning and building up temperature. I need it to be procedural, but also not just a linear increase in already mapped vertex weights (i.e. wheel revs increase = weight increase) but generated based on rotation speed and contact time with a surface.

I appreciate this would most likely require a plugin or scripting of sorts, but if you have any clever solutions/ideas, I'd love to know.

Does anyone know, where I can get a preferably free though happy to pay, detailed and realistic wine glass model for c4d? I've looked on various sites and they all look a bit lacking. Haven't got enough time to model one right now, and I need one for a tight deadline to go with a wine bottle I've been working on.

Is there a good place to do this? The only thing I've been able to find is the "suggestions" page on the maxon site, but that doesn't seem like the best place, as it's for suggesting new features.

I know it sends one automatically when c4d crashes, but what about the bugs I've found that don't crash the program?
Hello friends,

I'm not trying to start an argument here, but some colleagues around me keep switching to some "well known" and "widely used" software with "large user base" etc.

I'm a bit conservative when it comes to 3D Software. I've spend long years to master what I'm using. Switching from a user friendly tool like C4D to any other "user fiendly" software is so not attractive to me.

I wonder what you guys think about the place of Cinema 4D on the market, and about its future? Would be cool to hear your opinions about this...
