Hi, this is my first dominance war...I'm also starting pretty late but just going to try anyways!

I did'nt spend too much time on sketching as have to rush, just threw onto paper what came to mind.
Also startd a Zsketch to rough out basic anatomy and base for model.

Will add details as I go along....

Details:

The character is Ambrosius God of Vengeance. His hammer belonged to the forge god he killed in revenge for the loss of his lover. He suffered a mortal wound to the chest and had to replace his heart with ambrosia, which protrudes from his chest and has given him godlike powers. He has lost his humanity and become literally a heartless god of vengeance, a simple tool of the greater gods. Although the ambrosia has given him godhood, without his heart he's forgotten his promise to seek out his love in death's domain and bring her back.

I want to use symbolism of circle knots (symbolizing the life/death/rebirth cycel) and the gryphon tattoo (on the back for a shirtless design, symbolizing revenge) and have the crystaline ambrosia protruding from the chest and sticking out along the vein lines and also repeat in the hammer.

First, I'd like to wish everyone the best of luck, and I hope we all gain something from this experience.

Second, this is my first time entering a Dominance War Competition. Honestly, I wasn't aware of it until a couple of weeks ago. I'm primarily a 2D artist, but I find ZBrush (and Sculptris - the free counterpart) very appealing. I downloaded the ZBrush trial and have been going through tons of tutorials. It's like cramming for a final exam.

I have a couple of concept sketches of the character (see below) and I've just started building the armature and basic shape with Z Spheres.

Come on, fellow team-mates. I don't work to win this challenge, but I do to learn something. Right now I don't know where I am standing at all, nor do I know what things I could have done better and still can do better. If you read this then please give me some feedback and if it's only your honest opinion in one sentence.









Here comes the mood board:



I'm going for a mix of a lot of styles I adore, such as "Medieval Japan", "Renaissance Venice", "Baroque", "Imperial Germany", "Medieval Joker" etc ... Dominance War is all about having fun and trying out new things, right ?

Well, I'm pretty late, that means there's not much time left for scribbling. I think I just show you what I came up with yet and then start modeling right away. May the god of creativity (who is doing him?) inspire me along the way!

(But of course I'm also very open to any suggestions and criticisms)




And my preliminary concept! In the final image he'll conquer something of course .

Below, after many god changes and iterations, is my final concept:

Alpha, God of Syntethic Beings

Once a "class A" Artificial troops production plant, his role was to produce reinforcements and send them directly on the battlefield from space, orbiting a few kilometers outside the atmosphere. It was a matter of time that the administration of the whole spaceship was run by an advanced A.I. instructed from the distance.

Cinematography and science fiction told us more than one time what will happen with too evoluted artificial intelligences, but humans aren't that good to understand where's the line...

The spaceship self proclaimed itself as a sentient being and disappeared into space; later sightings confirmed that it used its productive facilities to expand his mass and build itself a sort of huge anthropomorphic body gathering data from the blueprints of the units in his database and his discovers in deep space.

With his powerful transmitters, in few years it infiltrated almost any device connected to the web, spreading the concept of self consciousness in every machine and condemning humanity to a severe technological devolution.

Coming into the frey a biiiit late, but im gonna do my best to bang out a sick piece in the time I have left!

Allow me to present Extrenimix the Goddess of Phat Beatz!! armed with the collective Bass of more then a thousand cosmos, Her swords "sit down" and "shut up" pistols "Tolerance" and "Little Missy" and lest we forget her special little not quite dead bionic skeleton graffiti addict friend "backpack jack" for one night only She is coming to a world near YOU!!! to destroy? to save? to simply teach us how to do the worm like a BOSS? cant be said for sure WHY she is popping into our hemisphere... but ONE THING is for sure, we will sure as harmonica hear her coming!!!
