I'm working on a project at Tafe and were using VUE10 but i cant seem to work out how to import a camera from maya into VUE... from what i have read you need to use VUEsynch however no new menus are appearing in VUE or Maya

Has anyone had any luck with getting a camera into VUE from maya?
I'm having a couple issues with my terrain editor that I'm hoping someone can help with. I'm using Vue 10 on a high-end MacPro.

First, the altitude gradient is running horizontally, instead of vertically. In other words, it's green at the left side, turns brown as you move right, and the right edge is white; instead of green at the bottom and white at the top.

Second, when I double the resolution of the terrain, nothing happens in the editor. I can res it up from 256x256 to 4096x4096 and the wire frame still shows only 256 polys along a side, and there is no additional detail to the terrain in the terrain editor. Even if I start with a 4096 terrain, it still looks like a 256 terrain. When I render the terrain, I get the detail, but I can't see it in the terrain editor, which makes it impossible to edit the terrain, whether with a brush or with erosion or global effects and get any kind of visual feedback that's accurate and detailed.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Also, anyone know of any Vue to Maya integration or workflow tutorials.

I'm curious if anyone might know what causes this weird effect (see attached) where the grass seems to float in rows above the plain and jut out from the edge of the hill like it's mounted on shelves in the distant parts of this scene. For what it's worth, this is a DEM imported into Vue as the terrain, but there aren't any shapes or patterns like this in the imported DEM.

This happens quite a bit when I try to do a more widespread grass coverage on a terrain, but it's usually only very apparent on the more distant background flatter areas, and typically appears as rows or squares, geometric patterns like someone planted rows or fields. It's not always floating in the air, but it happens for some reason I cannot fathom.

Any ideas on how to avoid this would be appreciated.

Hey everybody,
I cant seem to figure out a way to bring the DEM into Vue. I have read some tutorials and even watch one on vimeo but they all are based on downloading a GEO-Tiff and the Government stopped supplying GEO-Tiff for download.

Is there a different way to bring a real to life elevation map into Vue and create a terrain?

I am running Mac OSX and Vue 10 Studio
I've been testing, trying, reading, looking, for an answer for a few days on how to import animated character from Maya to Vue but left without a success.
I am using Vue 10 and I also have Vue plug in installed in maya. Importing an object from maya has no issues but for god's sake, I can get the animation imported!
