hey, I'm looking to restore the photo to its original colors.
(these are my sweet parents and we're making a gift for my father's 60th birthday).

I've managed to bring back some of its real colors by playing with the curves a little and reducing the red.
but I'm positive that there's enough information in the image's color to get it to look better, maybe through some manipulation of the channels or working in lab mode?

anyone has any tips or ideas?

thanks

I'm trying to create an action that resizes my image to quarter resolution and then does a save-as tif. with my settings. The action then undoes the resize.

Problem is that my action is saving to a specific filename where as I want it to do a save-as and then keep my file name and just add a suffix "_quarter_res"

How would I do this, it's so I can quickly save a low res proxy image to import into Max during tests? I saw one webpage but the solution provided a script which was something along the lines of save for web.

This is probably useless to post because I'm sure of the answer.

I'm working on a video project where we will have 20 people and about 5-10 movements for each one. I really, really, really want the people to be flat, like cartoons, using filters and adjustments only. Even if I could just flatten out the skin tones to a couple of colors and then I could load it into Toonit or the AE cartoon effect.

The problem is, Toonit doesn't work real well, which is a shame. They don't make the skin tones flat enough. I'd really just like it to look like a black outlines and then the skin is averaged out and bucketed in. For some reason Toonit won't do this for me. It also aliases things when it gets that far down to simple colors. wtf. That thought that's why they called it Toonit to begin with.

Anyway, anyone know if there is an alternative/

Thanks.

Hi!
This is the picture of a wood panel:

http://www.ossosso.com/scambio/wood.jpg

I've to use it in a 3d software for rendering.
The photographer who took the picture didn't take it avoiding Vignetting and Shadow, so now I've to eliminate in photoshop.

Using the Lens Effect filter I've eliminated the Vignetting effect on it, but there is also a dark shadow on the top right corner.

How can I flat the image eliminating that black gradient?
I'd like the most precise and efficient way.

Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone!

Not sure this is the right place but the subject is "multidisciplinar"...

So: using 3dsmax+Vray I've rendered and interior scene with some furnitures. These furnitures have a somple with lambertian material.

Then I've applied a series of different materials on different furnitures rendering both the beauty pass and the alpha pass.

I'm doing that for a "Configurator Application" where the user simply configure the interior with materials he prefers.

The problem is that I see a thin white border around a furniture once I apply it upon the white base furniture.

I'm not sure how to solve it. It should be a mix of 3dsmax+vray side and photoshop side.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Hi there game dev community ! I'm new here and this is my first post.
I'm here to get some help because I am soon going to have to design a game using advanced digital arts such as Photoshop etc. My current software is Corel Painter 12.

I'm fine with sketching, ok at designing, but I'm a noob when it comes to knowing which brush to use and coloring tools etc.

The style I'm looking forward to practice will look a lot like the 2D manga-style games such as Muramasa and Odin Sphere.

Here is my question for you better experienced digital artists :

Say, if the artist from the image I'm adding here (Kisuke from Muramasa game and Velvet from Odin Sphere) was using Corel Painter like I am. Would you be able to tell me which brushes, brush settings, and tools you think would be the most correct for this kind of artwork ?

Good day I want to do the following thing in CorelDRAW or in Adobe Illustrator. I have got the ring of any color (green for example) and I would like this ring to be transparent at its inner and outer edges and opaque (that is green) in the middle of the ring. I tried to do it in CorelDRAW by means of Transparency tool, but I failed:

How this can be done in CorelDRAW or in Adobe Illustrator? When I tried to do it the result was this:

You see that the ring at its edges IS NOT transparent. Actually I want to simulate the image of electrons or other subatomic particles as shown here:

So, how this can be done?

Hi there!

I had a bit of time spare last night and thought i'd make a quick video overview for a recent poster design I did.

I created a quick 60's themed poster design for a battle of the bands event. The video is mainly about my workflow creating the warped and wavy text using Photoshop smart objects and Illustrator Vector smart objects.

It was a very time-saving technique, so wanted to share in-case anyone might not have been using smart objects much yet.

Check it out here:

Hope someone finds it useful!
Cheers!

Hi all,
I would like a lot to draw, but unfortunately I am not very good. Now however I would want to begin to use Photoshop to learn to do it: is it possible? According to you I can succeed in learning to create, even, some "masterpieces" with this Software? To do this I had intention to use as reference the book "Photoshop CS6 The missing manual", that, from what I have read, it seems enough good person and suit as I hover. You that you think of it?
Make me know.
New user here with a few questions. Can someone help me out with the following?

1. I'm used to Photoshop but just began using Corel Painter 12. I'm trying to find the scratchboard tool with no luck. That seems to be the closest to what I am used to working with.

2. My most recent painting is blurry. Pretty sure it's because I'm using soft brushes at a low opacity for build up. I had a print made and it was terrible. Painter does not have the print size tab that I normally use. I paint the full image without zooming.

3. I need to find where I change a file from RGB to CMYK before beginning my paintings. Not familiar with the layout in this program.

4. I am painting with the digital airbrush and acrylics. I am blending using just add water. Any advice I can get would be really helpful. Sorry if these are stupid questions. I am about to attempt a painting of a hummingbird and would like to get this straightened out before I begin and end up with junk I cannot print. lol

Cheers to a raging headache and self learning! :o)
