Update on 4th page

Hi, here is my latest work, hope you'll like it.
There's two versions of the pic: colour and black&white (my favourite is the b&w)

The same pictures at high res.:

And the wire:

very nice tryin to find somethin to rag on u about with it..but... hey tell us what software...hehe thats all I got.. Looks perfect re-inspired to finish my female character now..thanks

11 November 2003, 04:52 PM
nice scene!

her necklace is the best

her eyes are a little too far apart though..but that's it, nothing else to crit

11 November 2003, 04:53 PM
That's a nice work Reiv

My unique critic is a problem i see in the shoulders zone, the axile zone mainly. There's a problem of bad poligonization.

Any different angle view? the frontal views are too exploted.

That's all. keep up the excellent work.

11 November 2003, 05:00 PM
Ecept the right shoulder ,your work is fantastic !!!!

More pics please!!!!!!

11 November 2003, 05:11 PM
OH SHIT!

She is so beautyful
Awesome work! Grats:drool:

11 November 2003, 05:17 PM
Thanks,
I used 3dsMax 5.1, and about the lightning there are 5 spots and one little skylight.

11 November 2003, 06:04 PM
Very beautifull model Sniv!

Toujours aussi "classe" ;)

11 November 2003, 07:18 PM
reiv you keep amazing! dude, everything you create is just stunning. I agree, the b&w version is my favourite too.

How did you create the hair?

11 November 2003, 08:43 PM
This is a really great piece.

There are a few minor flaws, but what I like about this image is that the initial overall impression is really beautiful.

The B&W version is definitely the better of the two, as some of your textures are looking a little too saturated and strong, when skin should look soft and supple and delicate.

Some pther small things bother me like the necklace doesn't seem to cast a proper shadow which makes it look a little flat; the bracelet along her forehead hangs in an unnatural way; and her armpits look a too little high up.

But like I said, overall the image is a really lovely piece, and I've plugged it on the front page :)

11 November 2003, 08:51 PM
Beautifull! Very great work! some wire?

11 November 2003, 08:56 PM
Wow...thats really well done...the wire work is just sick. Cheers! :D

Yo RoBoT
11 November 2003, 09:03 PM
Awesome, you have done a hard work

11 November 2003, 09:07 PM
Shes perfect... Wire! and lights setup...
btw Hair is paint effects? (not as good as rest of the image, it could use a bit of photoshop)

11 November 2003, 09:08 PM
Congratulations to this great piece, you've made it again!
I also like the b&w version best because it looks less cg, and no wonder, to make something look real in color is difficulty level 2. But your textures are great, I'd say perfect but then, why do I like the b&w version better?
My first impression: Wow, what a beauty, wait a minute, don't tell me this is 3... this IS 3d!! :D

11 November 2003, 09:28 PM

this is really awesome,i agree the black and white rulezzz!!!

11 November 2003, 09:28 PM
looks very nice! maybee her fringe hair is a little too uniform?
i love her expression.

re:knoxville - i reccon the wideset eyes make her beautiful... like tory spelling:)

11 November 2003, 09:30 PM
maybe its just me, but it looks as if her right eye is looking into another direction than the left one.

other than that really nice job. i thought it was 2d at first as well.

11 November 2003, 09:32 PM
Wow, thnks again!
For the hairs I used Nurbs hairs cause when I started her she has a diffferent hair style. Now I think I could do the same thing with polys hairs.

11 November 2003, 09:40 PM
She's stunning. Textures, light and render quality is the best. Model is done very well too.

My only critique is:
I think there's some negative space in the image. If you cut some from the sides and make it look like a portrait, it would be better. I think.

11 November 2003, 09:43 PM
sweet and lovely. She is beautiful and the necklace is spectacular

11 November 2003, 09:48 PM
aaaa....... this is really really awesome piece......:applause:

small imperfections are good i reccon, the thing going on with the eyes in this picture make her more cute.

its amazing how many ppl have non-symetrical faces in real life.

11 November 2003, 10:01 PM
Wonderful work, very nice painted look... awesome.
Apart from the already mentioned minor issues, I'd add only one thing: the eyelids are too thin. This is a quite typical problem though... nevertheless, I'dd give them some more thickness. That'd make it almost perfect :)

agree. although i think you could make this problem less apparent by making that harsh black bg more of a dark gray instead?

11 November 2003, 10:11 PM
Good wook

11 November 2003, 10:49 PM
Stunning, I thought it was a painting.

11 November 2003, 11:09 PM
1st things 1st: nice work, really. I prefer the colour version but it's a matter of taste i think, the b/w seems lifeless to me but anyway...

1) The eyes are great, indeed, but maybe they'd need some colour variation in the iris

2) The eyebrows are a bit too flat imo, try adding some bump or displacement if you want

3) the area around the mouth has some problems imo, the same problems your other model (the one you've shown us in the skin thread) had.

4) i'd work a bit more on the shoulder definition.

11 November 2003, 11:19 PM
Alll i can say is wow:drool:

11 November 2003, 11:49 PM
which render do you have used?

11 November 2003, 11:50 PM
Awsome, I just think the ear looks too plastic, but only when I looked at it in the high res pics

Daolohua CnC
11 November 2003, 01:15 AM
The armpits are WAY too high.

other than that good image

11 November 2003, 02:10 AM
arghh ,can u do something thats not awesome...:p
great work :buttrock:

11 November 2003, 02:15 AM
I'm in love.

/the head and face are perfect. The form and placement of the armpits are the only thing that look slightly off.

Well done.

11 November 2003, 02:16 AM

i really like it
it shows you are patient and very

keep it up

would be good if you try to shade the
same model in color in the future

right now, its so nice and looks like
one of those 19th century images

think its nice and very pleasing to watch

ALSO, i find it a bit misterious the whole
image , which is good

again congratulations

vive la france :)

Hi reiv,
First, this picture is one from the coolest pictures that I saw in all my life :)

I saw most of members like the B&W version, about me NO!...
Just you have to make your light in the sence more realistic because the light in your sence seems to be died, I have do this in your picture in Photoshop by colors level...

OK this is the picture, just see it and then tell me to delete OK :)
I'm very sorry because I don't tell you first... Hoping I can help you..

11 November 2003, 02:25 AM
looks nice! Great work!

11 November 2003, 02:39 AM
what a girl O_O
is she available?

11 November 2003, 03:39 AM
Holy crap, that is awesome

11 November 2003, 04:43 AM
Congrats on a fine piece.

The armpits are distractingly high as stated, but i'm so focused on the face, that i hardly noticed. It's beautiful! Did you use a model/actress as reference?

11 November 2003, 04:55 AM
very nice piece of work...

11 November 2003, 05:18 AM
I like the black&white one.

11 November 2003, 05:38 AM
That is a very nice picture; I especially like the necklace. I am somewhat distracted by the way the top of the dress levels out with the bottom of the picture though. My only suggestion: maybe you could crop the picture lower?

Great work. I can die watching this beauty.

11 November 2003, 06:24 AM
Very cool work!! Congratulation!

11 November 2003, 07:29 AM
She s looking like ines Sastre (maybe this has been said before, no time to read)...

elle a le meme grin de beauté au dessus de la levre :)

good job.

11 November 2003, 07:50 AM
Lovely work.

It got very good mood I think.

one things, as some people saying necklace looks flat and looks float.

Overrall,

11 November 2003, 08:41 AM
Ouch, 4 pages of comments!
Thanks guys!
ll see what I can do for it.
About cutting some black parts of the pic, I think It's a relly good idea, and eYadNesS your version is pretty cool :)
Thanks again cgtalkers

11 November 2003, 09:12 AM
If she really was made after Inés Sastre... Please tell her to Not to speak!:). Sadly Ines is one of those girls that if you date her and say"why dont you speak?" she will reply "why?, to screw it?" and youll inmeditely understand why!:(... a pity...

11 November 2003, 09:28 AM
lol Dragonfx :p
I just find a way to do the improvements you told me, I'm going to update soon.

11 November 2003, 09:30 AM
It is the eye area. They are spread too far apart and they appear a little flat, and maybe the eyes do not look as real as the rest of her. But that is simply what I see.

Nice work nonetheless . . .

. . . . God that necklace looks heavy.

11 November 2003, 10:54 AM
Bravo.....btw bout the light...i prefer b n w ... :p

11 November 2003, 11:26 AM
Here it is :

I'll post High res later, just time to render :)

Waiting the High res, to set it background in my PC

11 November 2003, 05:03 PM
!!!~~~beautiful ~~~!!!
Your render looks like an oil painting. very romantic.

You can do something to that hairline, where it has a bit of baldness type.

11 November 2003, 06:14 PM
The high res:

11 November 2003, 04:25 AM
thats Superb!

more fireworks plz!

11 November 2003, 07:30 AM
This is very beautiful.

Is this rendered straight from 3dsmax? Was there any touch up in Photoshop?

11 November 2003, 09:04 AM
almost lifelike...i love her...damn..its beautiful...

11 November 2003, 09:18 AM

11 November 2003, 12:22 PM
one of the most realistic portraits i have ever seen,
the light is fabulous, her expression priceless,
j'ai beaucoup aimèe ;0]

11 November 2003, 06:34 PM
Great work! I love the lips and the nose. As for the guy who said she had similiar qualities to tori spelling, that was an insult your work. Tori spelling is deformed, and your work is certainly not. Great job

11 November 2003, 11:01 AM
A so powerful sensitive work doesn't need a critic!

11 November 2003, 07:04 PM
That's a nice work Reiv

11 November 2003, 12:22 PM
really great work :)

11 November 2003, 02:37 PM
Great work man,
::Thanks for the hi-res, their hard to find on the web::

(that last green update gives off a matrix feel, cool)

11 November 2003, 03:58 PM
this work is really great, I hope you don't mind I'm using it as my current wallpaper (the first version). I must say I actually don't like the newer ones as much, it seems like the contrast is too high. But regardless the modeling and all is superb. After seeing it as my wallpaper several times I did notice around the armpits there seems to be a texture issue, unless its just the camera angle or lighting, it looks like there's a zig-zag sort of error around them.

11 November 2003, 02:03 PM
How beautyful girl!
She has some charm out of the ordinary
It is a very great work! I'm very like it.Very nice.

12 December 2003, 01:32 AM
