Im used to modelling using the subdiv edge loop methodology, however I now have to do some low-poly characters, i wonder if anyone has some tips/suggestions for comming over from my old way of thinking?

1. same thing, just don't smooth the sub-d afterwards.

Draw your topology before doing any thing ;) ...
