View Full Version : how do i make realistic curtains,bedsheets , table cloth etc...

hi all
can someone help me model some nice curtains for my interior scene
i always face problem making natural folds and wrinkles in them..
not only curtains but bedsheets, table cloths etc also..
i have also read a patch modelling tutorial on them but the effect was not that nice...
please help me with this
one more thing that while rendering my exterior scenes how do i show curtains showing thru my windows ..
any fast trick like material mapping or maybe some other idea..

They have a plugin called simcloth3. Download the one relevant to your version of max. Install it and then to use it you find it in the modifiers. Select a plane (for a bedsheet) apply the simcloth modifier, position the plane over the bed and click on calculate and you'll see its magic at work. Of course you'll need to tweak a few of the settings but you'll quickly get the hang of it.
