View Full Version : FX Wars! MECH ARENA: thefluidrobot / Robot Combat

I'd like to join this challenge, but wondering if its okay to use two robots I've made in the past to fight on the New York Brooklyn Bridge. It's an idea I had for a short film for a while and thought this would a good chance to actually make it. Robots already done, just have to create the bridge environment.

What do you think Roberto?

I've had this idea for years and years of having two robots battling on the Brooklyn bridge, so this is a chance to finally make it reality. I'm going to be using some robots that I've made in the past for this challenge. I am currently modeling the Brooklyn Bridge + Manhattan skyline...will post the environment as it comes along...theres a lot of buildings! Going to use Google earth a lot for the task.

Attached are pics of the two robots. One of them can fly...the other can sort of fly by jumping and using its booster packs.

Are you interested in assets for the challenge?

for now, no, I am pretty much creating all my own assets from scratch. since my battleground will be brooklyn bridge, most of my acquired assets will be buildings. aside from robots and the arena, was there any other assets you had available?

here is a quick render of my environment. not enough time to make crowds of people walking on the bridge, so just going to start animating my robots in their environment soon. hopefully can make it in time!!

After much deliberation, I have to bow out of this one as well, all my assets were ready but just not enough time to animate and render all the shots to meet the deadline. Regrettably! When I finish the movie I'll make it a point to post it back here in the future. Good luck everyone!
