View Full Version : mia_material and motion blur issue

when turning on motion blur even with high settings, my mia_material gives bad sampling when lit by an area light ( border jaginess). Plus my object is not even moving, i had this problem in maya 2011 and 2012. I attached a simple file (, just turn on and off the motion blur to see the difference.

I believe what you are looking at is extreme reflection spikes
I'm not sure why you linked it to motion blur, turning it on or off didnít change the render on my side
Usually the fix is to use a lens Shader, but that didnít work in your case (u already have it)
the only way for me to get rid of them is to adjust the light intensity

edit: increasing the Light samples also helps
