View Full Version : p_MegaTK shader ray traced shadows and transparent objects.

Is there any way to get the p_MegaTK shader to work with ray traced shadows and objects that use alpha channel transparency? I have a simple test, a quad with a cut out alpha texture mapped to it, when the quad casts a shadow it is the shape of the geometry rather than the cut out alpha. What am I doing wrong?

Do you have shadow shader(usualy it can be the same as surface shader) in MR section of shading group of puppet materials?

No I don't, under the shading group attached to the puppet shader I have:

Material Shader p_MegaTK1
Shadow Shader blank, what should I put in here?

Oops, I was logged in with my girlfriend's account. Those questions above are from me. Looks like if I plug the shadow shader in from the mia material and put the alpha channel there as well everything works as intended. Thanks for the help!

Same as Material Shader, put there p_MegaTK1.

Maya should connect p_MegaTK shader to material|shadow|phonon by default on creation.
If you have completed last step in installation instruction.
