View Full Version : Rendering problem with mental ray

Hello everybody.

Here's my problem: my scene is composed of three spotlight, one ground and several boxes that appears one by one. I want to render shadows and reflections from my scene but I don't want to see the ground in the final rendering. I tried several way (render pass with primary visibility off,...) but I still don't have the result I'm expecting for.

So, if anyone knows how do it, thanks a lot!

P.S: sorry if another subject like this one has been already post.
P.S. 2: sorry if my english is not fluent. ^^'

In render settings, go to the passes tab, and add a reflection pass, then add it to associated pass, then contribution map. That should give you a separate file for reflections. You can do this for any other passes in that list too, but for shadows check out "use background" shader.

Turning primary visibility off will turn off everything including shadows, etc.

Apply the Use background shader on the floor. Itll make the floor invisible but show the shadows and reflections.
