"Dark Skies"

You have 40 minutes for your your sketch.

IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.
You may post a drawing at ANY TIME, but if you wish to be eligible for the Sketch of the Week, it must be finished at least a week after the topic has been posted.
You may also re-post a copy of your finished drawing a this forum: Member SKETCH Collection (http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=272)
Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 1024 x 1024. NOTE: The forum WILL RESIZE your image. Note: the forum will automatically resize the drawing, but you may post a direct link to a high resolution version of your image.
All Drawings can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used

I love the composition of this one and the color pallette.

uh, first excuse my bad english, im trying to improve... :D

it's mainly an experiment with a format that supports the height of the sky.
i chosed to place the horizon very far below to 'thicken the mass' of the dark clouds.
after around about 20 minutes there was a hole in the clouds, that's why i decided to paint the evil being underneath. and the eye was a good choice (i think) to place the colors of the sun up there as an eye catcher. don't know if it worked well... :(
i mostly paint how it feels good to me, like brainstorming...
