Hey G- Check the legs
Puddlefish- No I donít usually start out with the foreground elements. Iím trying to develop a method to painting in Photoshop any suggestions?
The beauty with Photoshop is that you can work front to back if that's what you prefer. Traditional media artists are used to going from background to forground, but with digital media you're free to break a few rules here and there.
I guess what's really important is to have a good idea or concept of the finished piece so that you can avoid mistakes that would lead you to reworking bits (I'm still working at this also).
My prefered method is to use lots of layers. This way I can always move/edit/delete parts that don't fit with the big picture. Once I get a piece the way I like, I'll merge relevant layers to keep the work space easier to understand.
 Whatever works for you and produces the result you want is probably the way to go. :)

C'mon man, let's see some updates!!! You have some really nice stuff going on in the first image - quite enchanted-looking already, and the char in the second sketch is also cool: looks like a Zen master monster to me :) Want to see how they fit together. Keep going....!
