is it possible, and if yes, how do i filter which objects are shown in a 3d pane? if i want to have a 3d viewer that only shows some objects, or have some objects that are only shown in some viewports etc....

How about after you create your panel, select the objects you want, and then hide the unselected objects?

Should work if you select by type.

the thing is, i want this window floating around with some objects in it, that arent in the other windows ....

I think then you will have to show the objects in your floating window and hide them in the other windows.

I can't think of any other way to do it.

not yet.... but i'm getting closer.... the filterItem is helping me :)

there was a thread on highend3d about this, or was it here? a month or two back. not sure how your going about ti, but i ended up using isolate view, and the modelViewSet it uses. in that thread there is also notes about limitions in selection objects and filters.. if you havent already come up against them! interested to hear how your going/go.

not exactly, i want to be able to filter objects based on their names, not their types... or make a type myself?
