Hi there

I'm trying to create a shader for my particles that gives them an additive effect... I'm currently getting the correct shading and oppacity, but can't imagine how to get the additive.
Any suggestions?

Currently I have this:

Which I like cause it respects the overall alpha and the fuzzy edges.
But it's not additive like this:

Here's what my shader looks like so far...

Thanks a lot for any insights!

setting the opacity to {0,0,0} gives You a pure additive behavior.

Indeed! Thanks for this one, man! Where would you recommend me to look for more info on shader building? Info like the one you just gave me?

Cheers

Have a look at this list, there are some good books in it:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Technical-Directors-books/lm/R3ES60SQKYX1EM/ref=cm_lmt_dtpa_f_1_rdssss0

Especially the books on renderman, Advanced Renderman and The renderman shading language guide will give you lots of information on shader writing.
