View Full Version : Decreasing spawn rate over a particle's lifespan

Hi everyone! I want to decrease the rate of a spawn operator depending on the particle that's emitting lifespan, so when the particle is born its emitting at a rate of 60, and as it approaches the end of its lifespan the spawn rate of said particle would decrease to zero. I thought that keyframing the rate of the spawn operator and synch it by particle age would do the trick, however, it crashes max every time. It's there something I'm doing wrong?? how would you guys approach this? (

Any help would be appreciated

Yep I can confirm that using a Spawn Test with an animated By Rate value and Particle Age blocks max, it didn't crash it, just a hang, more like it is stuck in a loop.

You can use By Distance and just increase the distance amount great enough that it no longer spawns, I tried this and it does work with Particle Age.
