View Full Version : Grand Canyon Digital Asset

Hi, I'm trying to create a digital asset in Houdini which can help me generate random rock structures.

I've tried using vopsop to generate random noises on a metaball and a cube for testing. I'm having some problems with the start file which I have now though.

I can't attach my test files files at the moment since this is my first time posting on cgsociety.

Anyway does anyone have any other ideas on how to start off creating this digital asset?

In case you haven't seen this thread yet for inspiration:

I think he said something about actually using vorticles to create some turbulence to form his rocks.

I don't think you can add noise to a metaball.... you should convert the shapes created by the metaballs to polygons and then in the vop sop take point position and add it to some type of noise and then pipe that out to p again.
