Herro, new member and first WIP thread ever!

Finally decided to spend more than half an hour in Sculptris recently and have been playing about with a few things. Naturally one has to pump out some sort of "character that doesn't make any sense but was fun to do regardless", and so this is mine:

The Sculpt: (Click for larger) (

And working on the low poly cage in 3ds Max: (Click for larger) (

Current tri count for the low poly is 2046. I've been thinking of a weapon for him, and I guess it really has to be a spear of sorts.

i really like the body design and the spinal structure leading up to the rear of the head, but for me the head itself doesnt seem to fit with the body, almost seems too human for an such a creature (or maybe not so much the head as awhole but teh face at least).

as for weapons, i think a spear would indeed be a good choice. now i know its a bit cliche but maybe duel blades? as ummm he? (it?) looks faily nimble and like it might fit.

Damn, yeah the face has bothered me since inception (not the movie)... and now since you've noticed it too, I guess it's time to admit defeat and change it up. Cheers for the comments.

Slowly does it, still not happy with it, and I'll probably give it a look at again tomorrow with a fresh set of eyes, but after that I'll probably just continue regardless. I think a lot can still be "saved" when it gets to the texturing stage. If anyone has any facial-ideas I'd love to hear them before tomorrow's up.

Not much to look at, just plugging away with the 'LoPo' mesh. Looking forward to actually spending more than an hour a day on this over the weekend. (

heads looking MUCH better imo mate, good work. if i were to nit pick, all i would say is reduve the bridge of its nose a tiny bit to give him better vision, but either way, i really this this character.
