View Full Version : Dominance War V - 3D - LOLiverrr - Goddess of the Occult

My first Dominance War entry! Can't wait! Hello to you all :P

For my entry, I have chosen the theme of the Occult:

1. Of, relating to, or dealing with supernatural influences, agencies, or phenomena.
2. Beyond the realm of human comprehension; inscrutable.
3. Hidden from view; concealed.

Initial ideas:

First concepts:

I'm looking for a mysterious, detached kind of design. Something malevolent and dark, though not necessarily evil, or even bad.

Advice and constructive criticism is encouraged and welcomed :)

From you initial sketches I like the top corner ones. In your first concept 1 and 6 look more woman mage-like and 2,4,5 more sinister. I would suggest making a couple more variations by combining 4-6. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the advice and encouragement! I did as you said, and came up with these:

I really like the third one, how she's holding her ribbons as if she's been creating herself...I think I may have to run with it?

Wouldn't mind a second opinion though ;)

You're welcome :). I am with you on the same boat when it comes to the opinion about your latest concept. Nr.3 definitely stands out. The face somehow reminds me of Morrigan from the Dragon Age game. My only suggestion now would be to use the robe from 2nd image and put it atop 3rd whilst slightly changing either the robe or the current body and ribbons of 3rd so that you would get a combination of a robe and a cloak made of ribbons. Good luck!

No#1 is just outstanding. I'd go for that one :)

Thanks again for the advice! I tried to do what you both said, and asked some friends. This is where I'm at:

I've given her a wash of colour but that's something I need to think more about. I think I'm kinda liking it!... I'm gonna break up her gauntlets a bit more while modelling too so she's less symmetrical.

Any more advice before I finalise? I could do with as much input as possible!

Thanks again :)

Here are my turnarounds:

The rest will probably change during modelling... Things like the ribbons/feathers will no doubt be adjusted.

Wish me luck!

O.K! Low poly modelling and unwrap... DONE! That was tedious :P
Here's my few hours worth of zbrush work so far:

Lemme know what you guys think! Ribbons and feathers will be added later... And I'm just bocking out at the moment (head, arms and shawl so far)

she doesnt look as feminine compared to your concept art.. maybe the cheekbones are too strong?

i like the way u do the hair.. its original and smooth to look at

Hey, good work on the foldings of the poncho (?)
Is she floating around or will you add feet later?

The only crit I have is the head, I guess it yould need some more tweaking, especially in the jaw/cheek area.
Good work so far.
