View Full Version : baking CAV maps out to texture

Hi, I did a quick search on this in the XSI help and on this forum but can't find anything on it. Is there anyway to bake the color at vertex information out to a texture? seems like you can bake information TO the CAV map, but you can't rendermap that info out to a texture map...? i would like to apply the CAV property and paint vertex color info to be baked out to texture to be used as a mask.

You can pipe the CAV map into a constant shader in the rendertree, and rendermap that to whatever UV space you want to use for painting.
Should get you what you need.
