View Full Version : Odd shadows on Normal Mapped Render

I'm having some strange shadows when rendering with a normal map. Some one please help... Happens with mr, and 3delight. I think its something simple, I just have never used normal maps in for non-realtime rendering.

I think that your tangent map is not detailed enough, the slices are too large.
You may have to make a more detailed map.

I made a tutorial on the ultimapper procedure here:

In your case, in the explorer, go deep inside the object's cluster and find the "texcoords" and decrease the angle grouping.
Also, "smooth" the tangents as shown in the tutorial.
