View Full Version : Import Clips using MEL?

I want to implement a process in MEL, the process should include:
1. create a character
2. import clips to this character
3. blend these clips
4. play the whole animation

Using the trax editor, it works fine. but I have to do it with MEL and i have no idea where to find the commands to do that. is it possible?

I have found a solution for the first and second step so far. I use the FBXImport function to import an existing fbx-file that contains a skeleton (in my case). then I have to select it and use this function to create a character.
character -name "character1" -excludeVisibility -excludeScale;
and importing a clip (or more) works with following code:
string $ImportClip;
select -cl;
select -r -ne character1;
fileBrowser("clipEditorImportClip", $ImportClip, "mayaAscii",0);
select -cl;
select -r -ne character1;
CreateClip; doReload clipEditorPanel1ClipEditor;
