View Full Version : MEL polyBoolOp and Vertex Color

Hi there,
just wondering if there is a way of preserving the per vertex color after a polyBoolOp call for he new boolean object. At least for the vertices that didn't change and some sort of nearest neighbour pick for the newly created vertices.
Thanks for advice,

booleans angry! BOOLEANS SMASH!!!

booleans always wreck stuff, be grateful you even end up with any vertices at all in your resulting mesh! :D

you could try using Mesh > Transfer Attributes to "copy" the vertex colours from your original object onto the new booleaned one..

I know, booleans are crap, but for this particular project the quality of the geometry almost doesn't matter as it's more or less just a visual array to store data if that makes sense.
Anyway I thought using uv's instead as they behave well enough on booleans and do the per vertex color after the boolean op, that should work, shouldn't it?
