HU!...HUGE....something good 4 my hands!!.....hey guys...good luck to everyone!
...presenting u....an idiot idea!...THE HAND LAND !!!!....ok....sure to do something better...but today..the bus driver close me between the busdoors an go.....orrible!!outside was raining! How to have good ideas after a so hard start??
Yep OZ, I'm waiting.
Hope you finish the challenge, this time ;)
ROT!!!! At last i meet u again!! Big Surprise!!
10-21-2003, 10:42 AM
Hey OZ, you're image is too small!! What are those flying in the air? Fish?
Anyway, the colors look good and it looks like a cool painting. It may be a bit cliche, but most certainly not an idiot idea!
I wanted to see it closer also because I wanted to see how you handled the water. It looks like it was painted well. Is that acrylic?
Ok....first attemp to imagine something serious.
I like the idea of an ultrawhite skyline....not exact hazy...but...overlighted...with natural (??) structures that look like to absorb the extreme lighthing...enjoy
to zbgump :It is photoshop with a smooth mouse...;)
HE HE HE the first image u C is only a joke....the next one is my first serious entry,again...photoshop.
Tnx 4 ur comments!
10-21-2003, 11:25 AM
hey OZ, can't wait to see the progress man......... keep on~!!!!!!
Ok...new concept....something more classic i think.....A color cave....made by a color changing stone of compact crystals...
To future14 :HEY TNX! :)
Nice to have u here future14! I hope to see u here again..:wavey:
10-21-2003, 12:02 PM
The crystal cave is beautiful, I like that idea a lot.
Wow, I dig the color cave too! So... vibrant! :)
10-21-2003, 01:03 PM
i like the colorcave! Wow!
Hello master..... its been a long time , i was in the koma .. he he .. iam joking ,great start dude , so how many skecth do you plan to do 247 , maybe 1000 .. he he . keep it up man you works are always unbelievable ....
new entry!....Im from a city on the sea (Genova/italy)..so....how i cant imagine an alien sea environment? The acid whater have corroded the blue metal rocks.....
only problem with metal rocks is that quite soon the metal would go away.
glass rocks would make more sense because they would not become erroded by acid.
I mean nothing wrong with the idea its just kinda unfeasable from a realistic standpoint.
10-21-2003, 04:11 PM
have you read the rules? intention was to create the world you have never seen before, that contradicts to the laws of physics.
p.s. i really like your work OZ!
10-21-2003, 04:20 PM
I can almost see sperical asteroids/planets/moons falling into the acid ocean, then eroding to the semi-circle pieces we see floating around.
You could play with effects to create boiling acid and smoke around the chunks.
10-21-2003, 07:58 PM
love the cave idea! That may be something to take a little further. Nice color play.
10-21-2003, 08:31 PM
:wavey: Hi OZ ..good to see u on this one !!! have fun
10-21-2003, 11:45 PM

bring back the hands!!!! ...that ruled :buttrock:
good luck oz ... fab that your in on this:thumbsup:
10-22-2003, 11:01 AM
My favourite concept is the colorcave for the moment!!! Like the rainbow use of the colors in it!!!
Zenorocks......strange formation of stratified yellow rocks...that fly...the center of the planet is made by stormy yellow orange gas.
10-22-2003, 12:28 PM
Great looking stuff Oz. I love the cave but the image has to be a huge landscape...so my second pic is the zenorocks.
10-22-2003, 02:39 PM
Hey OZ man!
It's good to see your work again bro.
I really like your first (the real attempt), third and fourth sketches. The second one didn't really do anything for me :p
Good luck in the challenge. I (as always) look forward to seeing your work progress.
10-22-2003, 02:47 PM
When I look at the Zenorocks image, I get the impression that the floating stones are both soft and hard at the same time.
Could just be my overactive imagination, but it might be a concept worth persuing.
10-22-2003, 03:02 PM
:buttrock: nice OZ, maybe a comilation of the concepts all together in one piece would be nice...keep it goin I like where you are going!
TO Clanger : Tnx!...mmmh...I feel it a bit....uncomplete.
to ceql: Tnx,he he ,a bit psykedelik!!! ...but in 3d may works well....hey..i love the robot of ur avatar!!
to Elvis75k:Tnx to be here and 4 ur comment!....mh...so the cave works so well?:)
to Koma: HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ...yes,yes....a lot....rigth not to finish the challenge in time! HE HE HE HE...tnx and happy to see u master!
to JIII:Oh..well.....yes,i know what u mean....mh...the metal will go away as u said! Correct....I think it is very...hhmmmm how to say.......romantic....because before or after all u see....will disapper.Tnx 4 ur comments
10-22-2003, 04:25 PM
...sicuramente MAN!! ma considerando le regole del gioco... I'll keep an eye on your thread.. Good work.
10-22-2003, 05:56 PM
The yellow scene with floating rocks is wonderful.. but the Berserker's "Concept A" has the exact idea.
Your sketching is nice... Keep em coming!
10-23-2003, 12:23 AM
Nothing to do with the comp, but I love your sketching style. Really reminds me of the Romantic Landscape painters. Very Turner-esq... Something I appreciate a lot. :applause:
Is it just photoshop with a 'brush' shaped brush? Keep it coming, I'm getting jealous. :buttrock:
Not original.....not very...alien!....just 4 painting pleasure!
To Sky_one:HE HE HE HE...yes...i did!
Well...never seen dont means "never seen before physical rules";)
Try to imagine....can the physics we know, generate something never seen before!? Yes! sure!.....Tnx 4 ur compliments! Glad u like my work!:)
zbgump:HMm.....yes....good ideas!...if i'll model the acid ocean...i'll try to put the stuff u sugest!Tnx 4 it !

to zbgump: NOT UR IMAGINATION!!! great!...u got hawk eyes !!...yes....u are right....the flyng pile are half solid half made by gas.
to Bezerker75: he he he nice idea! yes....very nice! Tnx!really!
to Elvis75k: ARGH! he he he ...yes....i think that i leave the cave concept!
to Pufferfish: TNX A LOT!...mmh still a lot of concept to come!
to Gavin Lester: he he ..tnx!very kind commentes!Ah photoshop is great....also with a mouse!
10-24-2003, 12:36 PM
Yes man. excellent. You are constantly expanding your idea, and not just sticking to the origional. With all those things you got now im sure this will turn out great!
AN armillar planet....just like a ring....just like some space stations.....but this is a natural environment.....
10-24-2003, 04:09 PM
you keep putting them out ! you are a machine:thumbsup: I can't decide now...so I guess I will just have to wait and see what you come up with next!!! I like them all...thay all have nice qualities: ahh do all of them...ha ha ha..no but really I like that you are experimenting alot before you decide...keep em coing and I will keep on looking...
10-24-2003, 05:15 PM
I appreciate how daring you are with rich colors! Very cool.
This one doesn't do much for me, but I like the fact that the shape of ground almost looks like it could be an ocean wave.
So far I think I'm most find of Zenorocks.
But...definately keep them coming!
Hand made concept.Expanding a joke (as my first concept was) to serious stuff.
To Tadus:HE HE HE TNX!!! I really need this kind of comments....Im everytime not sure about my way of doing about the concepts! Tnx!again!
to Bezerker75:TNX MAN!..well....im sure not to imagine something so original.......but anyway, putting out so many concept, help me to understand what is wrong about it....if at last,a good idea comes out.....hem...is still a mistery 4 me....:hmm:
to zbgump:Tnx....i will put a lot more concepts here......i feel far away from a good idea....i need to put a lot of stuff before start modeling.....well...he he i hope not to be boring! And at last, that all this stuff looks nice 4 ! Tnx again 4 ur comments!
Inspiring work, all of your sketches are incredible. I still like the Colorcave the best. Is that supposed to be a stream in side the cave to the left of the figure? :applause:
10-26-2003, 05:55 PM
Yo OZ, I really love your concept pieces.
So much of your work has a playfull light-hearted feel to it. I really enjoy seeing your work.
I don't know if they fit into the challenge guidelines, but I really like the hands erupting from the surface of you planet. I think its a cool idea.
10-26-2003, 06:46 PM
Art Work man,
10-26-2003, 06:51 PM
VISKIA isthe best! (IMHO)
I like the idea of burried statues....maybe make them alien hands. :P
10-26-2003, 07:59 PM
suppose i am not "marinated" ;) and i land in some distant planet far away from this part of the universe and i see huge human hand like structures sticking out from the ground - i would be surely comepletely 'freaked out of my mind' but what is the chance that in this HUGE expanding universe - a planet has the same climatic and biological environment to nurture a singled cell organism to evolve exactly like the homo homo sapiens? ummm... once in every hundred billions times? i don't have the answer but again - if i ask you imagine my face exactly as it is - it is also impossible for you because you have never seen me or don't have any other information about me except for my screen name in the forum - even though i have two eyes, one nose.... blah blah blah... it is not possible because we can't think outside what we don't know. our imagination is limited to our knowledge... i am not sure why i am making this pointless post, but i am sure that i like your latest concept with the human like structures coming out from the ground... it doesn't have to be funky with lots of colors or has to have lots of "alien looking" stuff... yeah~ one could surely bend and stretch his/her imagination - but a nice 'awe factor' could be also initiated with very simple concepts... you could try reading 'Rendezvous with Rama' by Arthur C. Clarke if you haven't already (believe me - it will not take you more than a day or two to finish it - has a built in internal magnet... hehe), it creates the most fascinating 'awe factor' with very simple ideas... hmmmmmm!! pointless huge post but i think ur idea is simple but elegant... good going!!
10-26-2003, 08:34 PM
i'm confused...U have ideas like raindrops...I like your sketches a lot... i want to see what will be your final idea...good work
This is the first concept i really like!
This land is done by giant column of sponge like rocks. At the top of it,big lakes that became whaterfalls. The fall of enormous quantity of liquid, make the environment constantly hazy.sometimes on the sponge columns bumps out a strange horn like structure, that is rich decorated.....non sure if done but any intelligent life form,or just only a joke of alien nature.
Please...forgive my english.Tnx

to farhan:Thank u farhan!...mmh i have not found ur post aimless......not 4 me.......I will start from ur words to change my point of view about this challenge...and....the meaning of "imagine something that looks alien".........ur post pop in my mind a question....:ok...alien....but alien 4 huo?Our planet is alien 4 an alien........mmmmh......i got a lot to think about!
10-30-2003, 07:36 PM
It's always great to see you in action. As always I'll follow your creations here with great anticipation.
For me my favorite ideas thus far are the "COLOR CAVE" and this last one "VITUPRYA".......Your last thoughts on "Our planet is alien for an alien> does cause alot of thought on the whole idea here.....So do your thing,I look forward to nothing but top notch creations from you here as always.
10-30-2003, 09:37 PM
I also really like those island things. I'm curious Will those mountain columns be susspended in the air or attached to the ground? I also love the idea about the waterfalls and lots of steam arround.
10-31-2003, 06:14 AM

sorry for the italian sentences, but OZ is a big friend of mine.
11-21-2003, 12:03 PM
Oh, thanks CuTnPaste! I don't mind learning a bit of useful italian phrases anyway - and 'Kick ass!' is a good thing to say in this case. Spacca tutto! I'll never forget that.

All your sketches are great!
But my personal favourite is the color cave (with the crystals)... I think in 3D it would ROCK!!!

12-14-2003, 10:54 PM
Hi Oz............I love the color pallette.Really beautiful colors, they are soft & gentle and look even better in an atmosphere such as this high dangerous mountaintop, the contrast of beauty and danger go very well together.........
Perhaps a few mushrooms and moss such as previous pieces you created in past challenges would be perfect for this beautiful ambiant world you are creating???;)
Hope you can get more of this World created,Looks beautiful so far, looking forward to the next update very much. Here is to you OZ.................

12-23-2003, 04:30 PM
nice vegetation u add, looks really cool, just a little opinion on the material for it, what if the tips of that alien vegetetion are glowing, or translucent, just the tips, maybe in other color? and maybe there are some glowing particles around, u know like spores, just an idea
really cool stuff!
12-24-2003, 05:25 PM
aspetto gli stoneman che mi hai proposto un paio di pagine di thread fa!!
vitrupyia prende una bella piega
12-24-2003, 06:08 PM
Looks really great, an interesting work from the first steps on a very high level!
The filigrane structure of your vegetations is very nice, remind me something we call "cat-tails" here, great done so far.
Just one little suggestion, they could use a lil moss"basement" as in nature, there are always moss and stuff required for "higher" vegetation to grow (humus for the roots). They seem to grow out of the rock yet.
I agree with Rattelsnake bringin in a few "alien"properties to them.
Keep the great workprogress on comin' you're doin good! Can't wait to see more!
Keep rockin' and on make me go wow!:buttrock:
Merry Christmas and happy Hollydays
Just an example of Vituprya whaterfalls. The little green spot at the left side of the column is a field of the vegetation i medeled last week......the scale is tiny!!! I ask myself if make sense add more detail on the vegetation!.....Ú_Ú!!
12-30-2003, 05:50 PM
That is awesome, OZ baby! Spacca tutto, wasn't it? You're doing it, man...
