Very interesting... To be honest i prefer the first sketch (Black and white one), but the second is really cool too!!!
10 October 2003, 03:12 PM

10 October 2003, 03:45 PM
Wow, this looks very organic!
How big are those "cabbages" supposed to be?
10 October 2003, 04:36 PM
Really like that last drawing  what's the idea behind it?
10 October 2003, 04:47 PM

I like the green environment sketch  That green lighting makes me wanna know whats behind there. Draws you in. Nice work.
11 November 2003, 11:48 PM

AlienCabbage III - sketch of environment and lighting
11 November 2003, 06:10 PM
Yeah! now that's even better with the rays coming through. This would certainly look good as a poster. I wanna see more but not wreck the mystery. Nice work. :)
11 November 2003, 07:58 PM
Dude I love the progression you can see through your concepts. And the last version is really mint (good).
Nice to see you working through alot of issues with the concept. On the last one I would really like to see a little more detail about half way down....just before the shafts of light run out.
 Wicked work tho
11 November 2003, 08:14 PM
Wow, your concepts have been improving. From great to truly amazing
I really like that last one, the rays of light are fascinating
Can't wait to se the final render :)
11 November 2003, 09:51 PM

11 November 2003, 10:03 PM

Experiment with composition and rendering.
11 November 2003, 08:25 PM
Cool. Very organic. So have you modeled this already?
anyways... keep up the good work.
11 November 2003, 01:15 AM
I really like the AlienCabbage III's material. You should apply that to the spheres.
11 November 2003, 10:58 PM
bump map only with color lighits
11 November 2003, 05:51 AM
Problem with images like that is that they just look too complete :) Maybe add some small details to give impression of scale ? I really love overal impression and hue of Your colours.
11 November 2003, 07:15 AM
hi ! i like it very - mostly forms, light and colour composition - but it seems to me you could add some light to foreground in stage for giving volume to the obgects that are closer to us. Also your idea is great
11 November 2003, 08:23 PM
and now Cabbage - sketch
11 November 2003, 08:52 PM
hey....awesome!!! :applause: the latest sketch is so great dude!!!
11 November 2003, 11:42 PM

12 December 2003, 10:51 AM
12 December 2003, 11:28 AM
your cabbages have a brain-like look
they're so nice I wanna eat them
If I were you I would go for a cerebrum-cabbages concept
12 December 2003, 01:00 PM
cool stuff!keep it up man!
12 December 2003, 06:41 PM
Thanks Segmoria, but the brain like cabbage, was my concept from the very beginning

Absolutely awesome! Great light, Great maps, great composition!
This sh*#t rockz! :applause:
cant wait to see wuz next!
be inspired and keep rockin' man!:buttrock:
12 December 2003, 12:40 PM
Awsome, realy good, i haven't been here since page 2, this is developing very nice.
12 December 2003, 03:34 PM
first try of texturing
12 December 2003, 09:00 PM
If I were you, I'd lessen the volumetric light a bit as it is too overpowering, and instead add more ambient light in the color of the main light source you want (yellow). This'll bring out the geometry better without washing it out. Otherwise cool!
01 January 2004, 12:35 AM
after change software
01 January 2004, 11:59 AM
now I can work on cabage
01 January 2004, 01:18 PM
Great lighting going on here, I must say. Will be interesting to see how the finished cabbages turn out (or turn-ip perhaps...)
It seems to lack a bit of depth right now though... maybe the foreground in the top-left part is a bit too busy... (edit - I'm talking about the texturing render a few posts up now /edit)
Shows a lot of promise no doubt!

Alien cabage - model and textur
01 January 2004, 11:12 AM
sketch for compositing
01 January 2004, 12:56 PM
That's looking heaps better, just a couple of things to watch for. It looks like the detail on the front buds is blowing out, maybe just adjust the lighting. Also I think you need to increase the overall contrast and maybe tone down the Post FX. It's looking great though keep going.
01 January 2004, 05:15 PM
01 January 2004, 02:26 PM
this is only part of compositing
01 January 2004, 11:14 PM
Realy good painted background.
I want to explore this world
01 January 2004, 08:45 PM
cabage, what do You think about this.
01 January 2004, 08:59 PM
Looks like what grew out of the particlerain i firsttime saw i took a deep breath trough a coconut...;)
looks like some Microscopic world, cool shot. But I hope you won't leave your fantastic colored scheme now, the athmosphere is fantastic, just think the light is overshot, if the level dims a bit, the colorfull almost flourescent shine of the composition is absolutely awesome.
Keep on rockin' man!
01 January 2004, 02:52 AM
Wow.. I -am -impressed ))
X-tremely interesting! Must be something great in FR
I think lights and textures will play an extremely imnportant role in your scene. Somewhere may be even more important role than than geometry complexity etc. Hope to see FR Soon ! Great work!
01 January 2004, 09:10 AM
I love the look of this! The colors and textures are beautiful!
01 January 2004, 11:48 PM
Wow this is an amazing pic. It is so soft it looks like a painting and not from a 3d application at all. Congrats on the texturing and lighting. And goodluck for the final piece
01 January 2004, 02:21 PM
Thanks Cullen, I try to made this efect and I am happy that this is not only my imagination.
01 January 2004, 09:10 AM
I love everything, really!
Just one things if I can say - remember, the subject is a whole background, and should be believable, and therefore I like more the plants in front of a big gate like strucure than this last staff. But as I understand, this was just exercise?
In any case, GOOD LUCK:bounce: :wavey:
01 January 2004, 12:35 AM
This is not final compositing, this is firs tray ...
01 January 2004, 11:03 AM
Still in work
01 January 2004, 04:40 PM
01 January 2004, 04:54 PM
Hi again or for the first time.
Your vegtables are getting beautiful. If possible, soften up the blue color from The back, for some god 30% and you have a finished piece. Now, it is a little bit to strong.
In overall, very beautiful and unusual work.
01 January 2004, 11:11 PM
01 January 2004, 11:16 PM
This is very unusual - I love it.
Best luck:bowdown: :wavey:
01 January 2004, 11:23 PM
Thank You Eska.
01 January 2004, 01:34 AM
Is it final?
01 January 2004, 01:57 AM
Foreground seems a tad monotone, but overall the image is excellent. Really hostile and creepy looking, nice work!
01 January 2004, 04:52 AM
beautiful ... love the last version .. the front ones may be a little monotone , i could see specks of color in there .... but absolutely beautiful thing ya got going here ... :applause:
good luck
01 January 2004, 07:26 AM
Scren from LW
01 January 2004, 07:49 AM
Great image! I really like the feeling of it. I would not wanna see what kind of things lives in that cave, if there even lives anything, except those "cabbages". That image allows the imagination fly freely, the place can be anything. One feeling I get from it is a strong feeling that you are watching inner parts of some huge monster stomach.
I like it alot. Great work!
01 January 2004, 08:44 AM
01 January 2004, 08:59 AM

Well executed and nice color scheme
01 January 2004, 10:21 PM
I'm not exactly sure what you changed from the previous version, but the little contrast and post adjusments worked well. Particularily improved the foreground. Good job.
01 January 2004, 08:47 PM
Thank you all, I got the stars.
