first quick sketch

ground and sky are white
there are some lightly bluish 'balls' or something on the ground
and there are some crystal or glass like tobes going all over the place - they seem to be gathering behind the mountains, where is this hu-u-uge funny thing

I dunno dude it doesn't cry out desolation to me.

just my opinion though.

I'm curious about where you're going with these "pods". Are we looking at some sort of circulation system, or perhaps an infrastructure?

I think to further the feeling of desolation, you need to push the mountain range back. Maybe add more pods, but make them seem further off in the distance. Perhaps lower the "camera" to something closer to a worm's eye view. I think it seems a bit crowded right now.

It's an interesting concept, keep going with it!

yea... I kinda suck at drawing... and I'm lazy too :D

I can imagine this whole scene in my head

you are standing on a top of a mountain,
there is huge valley in front of you and there are only these pods and wires.
