This is a Binary Planet, in orbit around an emerging Black Hole. The planet(s) surfaces will be mainly Silicon and Carbon, and highly reflective. The crack in the main planets surface should have some evidence of life. The planet surfaces will be sort of wavy. Immense tidal forces have occured to bring the planets together, but they have been stable for a few millennia now.
A perfect observation post to view the Black Hole from a distance.
