View Full Version : Help with Approach to project.(person smoking)

really,sorry,i have no idea where to post this on the forum.I figured here is good enough.

I would like to make a video of a person smoking.Using particles for smoke in houdini or maya.

it will be Live action footage of a persons face,with some stylized smoke coming out of his mouth (possibly slow motion)

I would like the smoke to interact with the persons lips,and nose as it comes out.

How would I approach this?,is it worth modelling a head and tracking it to the live action face,and then using that to make the smoke interact with the face..Or does anyone have a better (or simpler) solution?

I have attached an image of the effect i'm going for.

Hi ,
For smoke you can use fumefx in 3ds Max.
You can model the face and track it for the interaction part.

:) no no,I will be using houdini/maya.I'm just wondering if tracking is the best method.

fume is a 3d max plugin,which i don't have.
