This is just an idea that came yesterday. The concept is very rough, done with pen on ruled paper. Will post a clearer version of the layout.

Some sort of thin based mushroom look. I prefer to have some fiber-interconnected ceiling. Will make a color scheme for the give layout sooner.

lookin good. I really like how the shade of your Maya interface matches your concept painting....easy on the eyes:p :cool:

Cool :) I really like how the multiple stems of the each plant interweave with themselves. Your really bringing you 2D image to life. Are you using Nurbs to construct the plants?

Yeah I really feel the slate tone soothing to the eyes. After all so many hours of work can be slightly dreadful . :)

I've been using nurbs to get those weaving stems. Some poly. But mostly nurbs.

Nice imagery, good idea, and nice lighting, I liked your shader test.
I was just looking at some images of Finding Nemo and saw the jellyfish forrest, Looks a bit familiar.
But keep up the good work.
Maybe a little variation in form would help?

Awesome work so far :thumbsup: , and i really liked the colors you used in your eartler pics.About the last texturing post, i hope its just a test cause it looks real worldly, too much like regular wood thinking use this with some subscatter or somethin during will have to do some experimenting.

Keep up the good work, and looking to see more.

Thanks Everyone for the feedback.

Elrod and Zappa.. yeah the texture looks worldy ;). Still experimenting for some better feel. I'm still not that sure as to how the lighting is gonna be. As that plays a big role, I will finish up with the modeling first and then place some sample lights to check with the shadings. Subsurface Scattering would have been really cool, but very expensive for me to try as of now. Precisely, I'm using Maya renderer alone to get the most :) The present shading test looks a lot like fibre and wood (more straw like). Will need to add something jelly and viscous too, what do u say?

Hi Imc, yeah even I'm getting desperate to see the bg as a whole with everything lined up properly. Will take some time to post. I'm working on this challenge only from the time I get between work schedule. So it is kinda irregular. Sometimes an hour or two and sometimes more or none :P. Will make sure to get the most sooner.
