View Full Version : problem with reflection map in maya

hi there!
i want to do outdoor lighting in my outdoor scene, i'm using maya and vray i create a half sphere to put hdri on it and turn on final gather, i also created a half sphere with the reflection map i want to appear on the building. for some reason it doesn't give me good reflection of the sky and when i try to put it as a reflection map on the building itself it also doesn't appear as i want it to...i want the building to be totally reflecting sky like a mirror...i attached my scene and textures i used to this thread, couldnt upload the hdri becouse to big ... please help....

First of all, you don't use vray in the file you have uploaded.
Second, FG is Mental Ray.

I am not totally sure what you want, but if you put the sky-image into the image based lighting slot and you turn on FG, you'll get all your stuff reflected with this map.
