Title: La Plaza, Siquier (3D)
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, VRay

10-19-2003, 06:31 PM
wow thats great work.
couple of things:
on the high res version ,the broken roof right in front looks a bit too soft texture wise, maybe a bit mroe roughness or graininess.
the red brick ceiling on the left side of the picture tends to stand out a bit too much ,maybe a bit darker.
but its just nit-picking, just my opinion.
all in all it looks totally awesome. :buttrock:

10-19-2003, 06:40 PM
Great modeling & amazing texturing!
11 out of 10. :applause:

10-19-2003, 06:44 PM
Wow! Very cool texturing. Congratulation!

10-19-2003, 06:54 PM
Amazing Job.....
The walls textures are great.. it shows that you spent some time on them...

My only crit would be on the trash can and the little white sphere thingy on top of the red brick wall in the left portion of the picture.

They both look too clean and "fake"... well at least more than the rest of the picture....

But it's an impressive work !!!!

10-19-2003, 06:56 PM
great siquier, the only thing I do not like is the lack of life of the image; some car, some person walking around...
in any case, very well done

10-19-2003, 07:40 PM
You always make great works :)

10-19-2003, 08:41 PM

10-20-2003, 10:07 AM
 no lo creo, esso es 3D, me parece estupedo tio, como siempre,me gusta el trabaro de luz:applause:

10-20-2003, 10:16 AM
great work man, as always, you're one of the best texturers...

but I think that the sky would look better without the filter you applied to it (If you applied it, at least I think so), or a lower level of this filter.

Congratulations again

10-20-2003, 10:24 AM
damn good as usual...but something about it is JUST a bit too....smooth I guess.

Also the Depth of Field is making it look like a miniature.

That and the lack of some sort of atmosphere....it's really evident on the high res version.

10-20-2003, 10:25 AM
Great textures.

10-20-2003, 10:36 AM
Excellent work, Juan. The light of this shot is really good, and brings to my mind lots of summer days... This square and the corner are so familiar to me. ¿Qué pueblo es?

10-20-2003, 11:04 AM
Thanks for all comments :)

Wonderful enviroment. :applause:

Cojonudo, como siempre :applause:

un saludo

10-20-2003, 11:28 AM
you did it agian!!!!
i am wondering if you are going to reveal how you made this shot this time too...like shot breakdown... things like how you set up the lightings, how you put texture on...and so on!!
i'm looking forward to seeing it.

good job again!!

10-20-2003, 11:39 AM
Very good lighting and texturing! But I agree with the coment about it look a miniature, I think is the sky wich is too blue and low detailed, but that is just me. Congratulations!:applause:

Jajajajaja..... Estaba casi seguro que era de un pueblo manchego. Mi familia es de la mancha, y concretamente ese entorno es muy parecido a una pequeña plaza del pueblo de mi madre (Abenójar, Ciudad Real). También la luz.... ;)

10-20-2003, 12:01 PM
siquier Nice work as usual
Very nice lighting:)

10-20-2003, 12:03 PM
this is great!

I can see the amount of time it took to get the textures to look right. I can only imagine how images like these will soon be able to be done in realtime with full clarity as in the high resolution image for gaming one day..

Keep up the great work!
-R

10-20-2003, 12:16 PM
great!!very realistic and warm!:applause:

10-20-2003, 12:33 PM
Great stuff.

A few spots tho.
The white building on the left looks really great, cuz of the photos and mapping, but the wall in the middle has some blurry bump issues, and got a seem right down the middle. Middle building looks abit flat too. And the background buildongs looks like miniatures, as others also pointed out. The brick wall (?) on the far right side, on the sidewalk, looks misplaced. The objects you added (trashcan etc.) , and textured without photos, looks too clean and bright.

But this is a great effort non the less

I see it too.

But still you did a great job!

Muy bien!

hey siquier,

first off, just like to say this piece has some nice modeling and textures, but theres some a thing or 2 i'd like to point out, that are bothering me:

the grate/bars on the window closest to the left (white), and the railing above it (dark/black), seem to be 'too' clean and untouched to have been there for any length of time, and having a father who works with steel/metal exclusively on a day to day basis, even factory stuff doesnt seem that clean ;-), farther window down the road, doesnt look as bad, but then its not as close either so the amount of detail would obviously be less.
the night light/lamps are the same too. as well as the garbage bin, maybe living in a rich high class neighbourhood no trash is spilled but in the ghetto i havent seen something that clean since my friends n i debated stealing a garbage bin from walmart

i guess just to sum it up, some texturing to those areas would greatly increase the realism i'd think.

otherwise great piece

PS. in the distance the buildings look miniture & plasticy to me a bit.

10-20-2003, 01:00 PM
I love your work siquier. Your images are beautifull and very recognizable (mean that in a good way).

but.. I think this one isn't quite as good as some of your past images.

Still great though !! :buttrock:

Excellent work as usual :)

10-20-2003, 02:14 PM
WOW awesme ! Wonedrful light and textures !

Compliments. :applause:

10-20-2003, 02:26 PM
Wow, this is a very nice scene, with some very well done textures :) Congrats man!

When i see those kind of images i cant stop thinking; Someday the real time games will look like this :D

10-20-2003, 02:39 PM
very nice rendering and texturing as always but too familiar with the other pic...

10-20-2003, 02:55 PM
3d is excellent:buttrock: but i think u need to work with composition.:wip:

10-20-2003, 03:09 PM

10-20-2003, 03:29 PM
The texture on the ground looks a bit stretched...

Maybe a little bumb map will do the trick...

Otherwise it looks great! Great job man.

10-20-2003, 03:30 PM
Very nice indeed....but:

The wire's are FAR too thick, they are rarely THAT visible and
not that dark either due to tear & wear and bird-droppings
& such.

I know this because I used to be a technichan and can tell
you...wires are not that thick in real life ;)

Anyhow, incredible textures (*bows in respect*)

10-20-2003, 03:48 PM

10-20-2003, 04:28 PM
Actuallly now SketchPad pointed it out, something else about the wires/cables... On the building right in the middle of the pic, the top right of the door has a cable hanging down to a box. I dont know what it is, maybe too strongly lit?, But the cable looks more like a stain - like a cable used to be there.

If thats the effect your going for its good but the cable hanging down still looks weird. Also, the right hand side of the wall on that building doesnt continue the cable around it?

10-20-2003, 05:13 PM
well what can I say ... another masterpeace

just a little critic , the grounde seems to be flat , like there isn't any bump texture or something

10-20-2003, 05:15 PM
Great work ans awsome texture job. My only one crit would be the house in the background on the right side. The DOF blur makes it's roof look a bit plastic. Thats the only thing that stand out, besides that is all gravy baby :)

10-20-2003, 05:28 PM
Good eye sketch.

The very first thing I noticed was that you used area lights? You never get that effect outdoors with direct sunlight.

10-20-2003, 10:32 PM
i never saw u siquier, but you're rendering, texturing and lightning are very great. well played man:buttrock:

10-20-2003, 10:35 PM
Very Nice!
The backround buildings don't hold up as well as the front ones but overall it's pleasant viewing from here.

10-20-2003, 10:48 PM
:applause: I LOVE YOUR TEXTURE!!:buttrock:

cya! pierre

10-20-2003, 10:56 PM
Thanks to everybody, hmmmm... a lot of errors... I will keep in mind all your comments for my next scene.
I agree with some of them but not with all, the garbage container and some more elements I prefer them new and clean as counterpoint to the walls, I don't seek that my render gives ruin look, in the towns people take care and paints his houses.
The very first thing I noticed was that you used area lights?
Yes, the sun is an area light, check it with some good sunglasses.
u need to work with composition
Could you be more explicit?, I like this composition.

I repeat: THANKS, the next environment will be better.

10-21-2003, 12:25 AM
I really like the lighting in this piece. Wonderful textures. Maybe you should add some irregularity to the ground - I think it looks very flat the way it is right now.

10-21-2003, 12:30 AM
Wooowzard !@!!! siquier thats a hell'ova well done

your textures are a total carnage :surprised

my only crits if any would be to see more of it

10-21-2003, 12:37 AM
awesome. very accurate :)

10-21-2003, 01:45 AM
absolutely good!!!!!!
very ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
wow, i just can't find the right words to explain!

10-21-2003, 05:12 AM
Only crit i could offer would be to add detail to the ground object. Even if you were going for that to be out of focus, it still lacks definition.

10-21-2003, 06:30 AM
Very beautiful :applause: I would like to walk in that place

10-21-2003, 06:57 AM
Yep, I still love your style. But did you use a picture which you made in this town as a reference?

Great work, again! :p

10-21-2003, 07:16 AM
Very natural lights, and textures...
I like the general aspect of the picture, overall the building of the left... but I´m not sure about the grey wall of the right, looks a bit strange to me...

Anyway a great work as always.
Keep it up!!!!

c ya

10-21-2003, 07:28 AM

10-21-2003, 01:31 PM
excellent rendering and feel ;)

10-21-2003, 02:31 PM
all time favourite man!!!

10-21-2003, 04:22 PM
seems desolate it needs some trees or a bush.

10-21-2003, 08:50 PM
Excellent work!! I like the ilumination

10-22-2003, 02:26 AM
it looks nice, but not nearly as nice as your other pieces. i hope you take all of these ppls comments, as they are all correct. it seems like you rushed this piece.....my 2cents

10-23-2003, 04:33 AM
:buttrock: that ROCKS

perhaps the buildings in the bg have very smooth edges...other than that its awesome

10-23-2003, 05:15 AM
Work is quite similar to previous image[work] that was posted sometime before.

So its just plain boring.Monotonous.

Do something different.

Stars worth---3/5.

10-24-2003, 12:27 PM
Just as allways Juan.

Great work, great quiet sense and amazing colors.

The color mixture of the scene is excellent to me. The overall view is very hipnotic.

I love the huge render!! I can spend a log time looking at your great texturing work

Congrats friend!!!!

10-25-2003, 02:19 PM
Thank you blasph, amid so many critics to the cleaning of the container are fabulous to hear you speak about the color which is my favorite artistic agent :)
Thanks also to everybody, I will try to get better.

11-03-2003, 10:29 AM
Nice use of colors and lighting:thumbsup:

nice piece of work!

damn. pardon my english ; but, this is great

it totally looks like a photograph.. one thing though is the house in the back on the left.. it seems a bit too clear, makes the depth weird. nice work :applause:
