I have loaded around 30 IGS files from Gehry Technologies Digital Project into 3ds Max. They load in as Nurbs which i collapse to editable mesh.
But the two largest files approx 7 meg load but crash max when i collapse them to a mesh. They need to be a mesh to export out to another system eventually and i dont trust NURBS in max.
My question is I have a friend with a copy of Solid Works which im sure would read the IGS files but am wondering if this could export as a mesh via DXF or 3DS or another format? Is this the best workflow to get a mesh into my file?
