Does anyone have an explanation or better a workaround for this maya behaviour. This applies to maya 2009 and also 2011(I've tried it). I create a mesh e.g a sphere, and through color set editor add my color sets, which I rename to my needs, then i smooth this mesh. The result is that maya renames the color sets to default e.g colorSet1, colorSet2 etc. Is there any way to disable this ? To resolve this issue I've created a script that renames the color sets back, but it is still not a viable solution for me.
