Looks like a fun comp to give a go ! . Ill have to state the cliche ( i hope to be able to finish due to work though :P ) . Any way this is a colour concept render i start with for base colours .

Started work on this this week .I consoladated some uvs so i am working with less patchs about 17 . been slow going so far hopefully i can speed up :P

Cool belt! Is that spec and displacement painted into the color or is in separate channels and being displayed through a shader?

Cheers aquafat11 :) . It is in separate channels and being displayed through a shader ) . I made 4 channels a dispfine ,color , specgain and rough for this patch .

this is awesome the stiching and texture look believable. Your cyclops model also had great looking clothing and skin too can you briefly explain how you achieved those please ?

Thanks gyarados :) . For the clothing in this post i have mostly used brushes to paint the textures And i have used the noise mask and channel mask quiet alot i find them extremly useful . I have created a few custom
Images for stiching and are just using them with the paint through tool :) i was painting them by hand but i soon released i was wasting alot of time . So created a image with a long stitch and then basically just used the lattice warp tool too curve it into place once in the paint buffer. as for the cyclops i used a normal map for the seams on head and i painted the skin textures by hand :) i hope to do a similiar technique on the skin of dezkin which i will post on here.

Heys , getting near to the end so better post what i have so far. still alot to do . computer is starting to move slower now with more maps :P but so far the graphics card is holding out, apart from mip mapping freak outs.need to get back to work and do the skin this weekend.the overall look and colors has changed from my orginal colour idea .

Wow, it's all looking really good. The only thing for me are the pockets on the shorts... it could be the camera angle, but they look a little small for his size. But overall I really love how this is looking and don't even mind your color scheme change (I was a big fan of the first one too).

I prefer your original design, but this is good too.Amazing job on the texturing kyledey (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=344845) especially the skin :). The last render though looks abit washed out compared to the screen-grab of the head.

thanks gyarados :) yeah i have been chopping and changing alot i must admit its been a evolutional process to say the least :). yeah the sub surface took away alot of the colour i must admit
