View Full Version : modelling an extensive amount of peeling plaster

I have tryed to model out the plaster peeling away on a plane by moving verts etc. it looks o.k, but is their anyway I can get it too look a lot better here you will see where I done my modelling job and the scene I am modelling, I want to achieve a massive amount of plaster peeling like in the acctual scene. I had two options in mind 1) model out the peeling plaster like I have done 2) A procedural shader . Any suggestions how I can achieve a much better look?

What about using a texture and bumpmap?

For some extra realism you could model a 'peeling part' that fades to transparent at the base, and scatter that object on your wall. But I think the texture will be enough.

Look around in the gallery, there are lots of images with nice plaster. See how other people solved this.
