View Full Version : .obj import - modifiers - merging - export

I have a very repetitive task in my development process. I am a complete novice regarding Maxscript. I have a number of .obj files in a specific folder. I was wondering if you can code all of the following in Maxscript and execute it in a single operation:

1. import first .obj file from the specific folder. Each file includes up to 4 meshes in it
2. Apply the ProOptimizer modifier to all 4 meshes with different preset percentages
3. merge the 4 meshes in a single object
4. weld vertices
5. export to .obj
6. process these steps for the next .obj in the specific folder, etc. etc

If it is not possible, which of these steps can actually be coded and auto executed automatically through Maxscript?

If it is possible and one of you guys can write this script, I am quite willing to pay a reasonable price for it.

Many thanks!

Hi Safra,
Regarding your requirement, I think I can do it except the step 2.
I cannot find ProOptimizer in 3ds max 2009
