View Full Version : Blue Mars Tropical Island work

Hello , as trainign , exercise , fun and whatever more I am trying to make a realistic looking tropical island by scratch in cryengine2 on the Blue Mars platform , wich use the same engine ....
I want to create all by scratch and get the same ( hopefully better ) quality of the original Crytek tropical Island Environment ....
SInce I am creating every texture , model etc from scratch I would like to use this thread to get lot of constructive feedback and sugestions , I premise I am not at all a pro or an expert so be gentle please http://boards.polycount.net/images/smilies/pcount/icons/poly120.gif .... but I woudl like to become one and may be you can help telling me if I could or not ...

Looking sweet :) I like the boat shot. If anything could imrpvoe would be making sure thier is a better looking background matte/skybox and some color variations on palm tree leafs. Keep at it.

It's very nice and I like it, is it going to be real time and explorable or are you just going to render a fly through animation or something?

Thankyou , it is all real time with cryengine , npw this was planned for Bluemars support but due to the fact that seems they have renounced to pc development support and have not yet plans for landscape introduction on their mobile apps I will probably be converting all this into Cryengine 3 and eventually use as a portfolio , now I am an all selfmade artist and I look for comments and critiques, and if I have the talent to eventually work as a Environment artist...

Stefano, these environments are Gorgeous!
When you say that you're modeling and texturing everything from scratch, do you mean that you created all that foliage? or are these the models from the engine? .. I'm not familiar with Crytek at all, so I don't know what you ..
If these are your foliage models, I would love to have a better look at them. maybe some isolated stills and wires..

Thanks a lot ... I made model and texture from scratch ,I got inspired a lot by the techniques used in Crysis , to have same or similar optimization ... s , I made lots of plants actually anything in particularly you 'd like to see closer?
here is eventyually a Banano , but I changed the texture by now so the one in pic is different frm final ..
please notthat those are older pictures atm some have changed and improved ...
