View Full Version : Vray Print Quality

I'm an architecture student rendering in vray, generally through Rhino.

I consistenly have problems when printing the renders, the change in quality on paper to the screen is remarkable. I am rendering to the correct resoloution, with what I think is a good understanding of vray rendering settings.

One common probelm I keep getting is weird radial patterns eminating away from the object another object (such as an architectural model) sits on, and unrelaistic color reflections.

I generally save my files as a PNG, then print straight out of photoshop.

I use Maya and Vray. It sounds like the output is not full 32bit colour - it may be 16 bit or less meaning you'll get banding during subtle colour changes.

Thanks for the reply. Ok, if I save the files as a hdr, then convert them to a 16 bit image in photoshop will the banding still appear? Or do I really need to keep them at 32 bit? Which seems to be stopping me from working in CMYK.

also make sure your colormanagment is set properly.
