View Full Version : ParticleFlow & Mental Ray - Water shading

Hello everyone.
I'm having a few problems here, hope someone can give me tip.
I'm creating sweat in a body with particle flow.
My problems started with the rendering of the look.
I've applied an Material Static in the first PF Source under Render.
The material I added was one from Arch & Design, and the template was
I decided to post the question here because in the first frames I get the look I want but when the particles start to spawn the shading doens't apply to them. I can't "penetrate" to get refractions.
Here are the examples:
From frame 1 and from frame 200.
Hope someone can give me an hint, his there any problem with Mental ray and particle flow? Do I have to apply the material statitic to other places of the PFSource?

try wrapping the particles in a blobmesh! you have a lot of spheres inter-penetrating causing the solid look i think.

I was thinking about that too.
Perhaps the huge number of spheres that I'm using is interfering.
How can I wrap the particles into a blobmesh?
I have a lot of connections btw...

I've changed the step size and I'm getting better results with the refraction, much better.
But theres have to be a way to achieve the refraction I want with the detail that I have allready defined.

check the help for blobmesh, this will give you a much more organic shape as well!
