http://www.cgnetworks.com/galleryimages/93245/Mirage_Jazz_medium.jpg (http://www.cgnetworks.com/galleryimages/93245/Mirage_Jazz.jpg)

This week, the long awaited artbook of Transformers Genesis by 88MPH Studios (http://www.88mphstudios.com) shipped to the persons who pre-ordered. It will soon be available in the book stores.

Some might recognize the Devastator piece since we can vaguely remember that we posted it exactly one year ago but had to remove it because of the re-organization of the book. The Mirage & Jazz piece is quite a special one since it was used as a limited lithograph to promote the book one year ago.

Pencils: Mark Brooks (http://www.ledheavy.com)
Inks: Clayton Brown
Colors: Michel Koiter & René Koiter (aka Twincruiser)

Have to say I really dig the perspective in the first, beautiful work there bud. Transformers for me would never get old, I just love these guys :) Great work on the colors and lighting, especially in the first pic. Nice job no crits.

Hasbro seems to be rehasing this old heroes, I just worked on a Teenage mutant ninja turtle spot last week heh.

:buttrock: I know when I was young liking the series on TV, but the new manga influence on the new stuff but more action into the poses. Also the use of perspective gives a good sense of the size of these characters.

Great job guys

Looking great! ..and yes the perspective in the first one really kicks.

oh my fuggin goodness.

these are awsome!! and at a very transformers time. me and my mate found a toy shop last week selling original Optimus Primes, Ultra Magnuses and Rodimus Majors. in fact, since then, everything has been very 80's nostalgia based. like being reminded of the brialliance of M.A.S.K.

ANyway great workl.

10-08-2003, 04:23 PM
Was this like some super-limited release? I mean I'm into the comics scene, and I had no way to order/pre-order this book, and still cannot find it...please shed some insight as to where to get it... thanks

ps. i've found a few stores on yahoo, but all them are still just pre-orders, and cannot guarantee availability...

10-08-2003, 04:50 PM
Thanks for liking the outcome everyone. Me and my brother were kind of iffy about posting this since it has been one year ago that we produced it. We're really glad that you guys are still enjoying the Transformers designs.

There was a limited hardcover release on the official 88MPH Studios site which included that limited lithograph of Mirage & Jazz. As of October 15, Image Comics (http://www.imagecomics.com/) will release the softcover edition for the different (comic)book stores around the world.

Here's the Diamond shipping list for October, 15: http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/expected_101503.txt

You could inform your local comicbook store on how to get your hands on that softcover edition.

EDIT: Amazon.com seems to be getting this books soon too...Check It (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1582403228/qid%3D1065629001/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/103-6636665-7079049)

So these images have already appeared on the covers of the comics? I love the way you've squashed the parts to fit with the poses...somethig 3D would have a hard time doing...

10-09-2003, 06:01 PM
A just slagd of the teragen renders, so to prove I'm not a bitter hobbyist i make it up. These ARE grate. Grate marker pen feeling to the. God composition and color usage. I like the city background in the first one, but the second one cod do with that ass well.
How much was painted, and how much is CG rendered?

A Makkai
