Hi Guys,

I've been using max for 4 or 5 years now and finally worked out where I want to point my passion so to speak.

Does anyone know of any good architectural tutorials where you use plans imported from autoCad (.dws file) to produce a building of some sorts.

Thanks Guys

I'm thinking the most simply way is extruding plans. I didn't have tutorials for this. Sorry.

Try CGarchitect.com But basically it's like said before - extruding and cutting holes. If you work with architects you may also get a lot of CAD data which needs to be cleaned of non 3ds Max helper objects or rewelding open faces, creating chamfered edges and such. Usually very basic stuff technique wise.

I remember an official tutorial in the old versions of 3ds Max. Maybe you could find it here : http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/3ds_max_2008_tutorials_modeling.pdf
(I can't download it)
