Hey everyone!

I have tried a number of ways to model this bath mat but have had no luck > link: http://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/206793472/Cotton_Chenille_Bath_Mat_CTN1600_LT_PINK.jpg Here is a link to a photo of exactly what I am trying to make. I have seen it made before in 3D but cant work out the best method of doing it.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Depending on the needs of the scene, you could check out some of the tutorials at molecularmovies.com to get some ideas as to how to approach this.

Particularly, have a look at Maya 101 - Modeling Using Polygons, NURBS and Deformers, as there's an example of the microvilli of a stomach lining that looks similar to the effect you're going for.
