The machine design is brilliant! So much it can do.

Good stuff.

If I had to critique anything it would be the guy jumping out of it at the end. The animation just didn't look right.

Nice stuff. Any chance to see shots of the model?

PS: Spell check your website.

Very nice!
The second glass shattering was a little stiff and a little blown out, also, the defocusing and shake of the camera was very exagerated in most shots, but besides that excellent work!

Thank you guys for the comments...

I totally agree about the pilot jump from the cockpit was not very realistic..The reason behind that i had t finish this shot in less than 4 days..everthing: shooting green screen, render passes, comp, camera projection. There was a big technical problem regarding the pilot is almost green :)...and the jump was fast even when i was shooting 60FPS there was a strong motion blure coming from the jump action( i wish if I had cables to suspend the guy)..and i really dont have the time for a complex Roto. This is why i made the guy move in his place slowly as if he is jumping then i key-framed the the jump animation and re-timed everything to give the feel of gravity as you may noticed in the breakdown..

Thanks for the all great notes guys...

first of all congratz on your amazing reel. it really shows a strong sets of skills you have. i really liked the split screen, and also loved all the bokeh effects u put in are my thoughts.

the opening sequence, i find, a bit long. it's more than 40 secs. i can see that you are going for a movie trailer look, but it might be a big shorter and show off "so cool~!!!" stuff a bit faster.

the glass shattering seems a bit weird... maybe too much reflection/specular on them...

the jump of the last shot... well everybody said it and i thought so too... i was thinking you could've used digital double since it's not so detailed figure in the shot. and i read your comments about the time contraints and stuff so i guess you did your best?

don't get me wrong, i loved your stuff. it's a great reel. but those are some bits that bothered me while watching.

p.s. how did achieve the bokeh effect in the pilot closeup shot? was it in post? if it were, which software/plug in did you use?

Many thanks man for your reply...all your comments have a valid points in them and i really appreciate the time you spent checking all those details...and being a VFS student yourself is great...because you know how things work in the school and how it is really difficult to study and work on you demo reel in the same time...and i think no body knows how difficult it is Insanely difficult:D...and as all the mentors reel is the longest VFX reel ever done in the history of the school...files were gigantic...render time were ridiculously was a mad decision to go for so much CG:deal:...but i decide to take the risk...and challenge my self to the maximum...:buttrock:

Regarding the intro...i agree with you its long...and to be honest...this scene was totally designed according to the sound track that i bought from audio network and it is not a custom sound effects added after the fact...i can design the sound effects and i always do for my work...but the problem as you is a domino effect...if i start designing the sound effects for the intro with all the secondary sounds like the submarine signal..bubbles..deep base...i have to do that for every shot...and you can emagin the enormous amount of work i have to put for the interior shot only..this is why i decided to use music only fro the entire reel...

Your VFS demo reel is awesome man...and i appreciate all the effort that all VFS students are putting into there reels....

All the best man and keep in touch

Brave and brutal captain Leonid Rakhmanov is so brave and brutal..
And what about that freak with the pistol... Is he crazy or what?..mwahahaha...

Great work man, awesome "wunderwaffe"!
Русский Ванька за рулем волшебной вундервафли неподражаемо крут!
Безумное по своей сути видео, ничего не имеющее общего со здравым смыслом :applause:
"Beware of Russians" :D :D
