View Full Version : No Smoothing Groups?

I'm doing some game modeling now and need to use only one material per object. LightWave has no way to create smoothing groups right? Also, doesn't cutting & pasting geometry leave unwelded vertices which produce real-time rendering problems? As it stands now, I have to model in LW then assign smoothing groups (and probably UVs) in Max.

You can create UVs in LW (easier) with PLG-UV tools (free plugin)

And you merge/weld points with the merge command (auto & manual control) or welding tools

But when you go from app to app, you always have to re assign smoothing
unless you have POINTOVEN for 3dsmax (loads .lwo files)
