hi guys

i m gettiling lil bit problem in rendering in mental ray.. i m using max 2009. and i m getting some shadow problem as i shown in image, they are like patch. i used one spot light and one sky light. i kept on final gather, bounce 2 . could u guyz help in rectifing my problem, i really appreciate it.

Looks like it could be an issue with the geometry of your objects since it occurs in the same spot on all of them. Could you post a wireframe of one of the cubes?

thanks kanooshka... for replyin but it is simple box with chamfer on it..... it`s a lighting problem or some sampling problem i guess.......

Are the normals on the cube hard or soft?

Have you played with the amount of samples and the min/max distance on the FG? Because I'm seeing something similar to what you circled on every cube in the render.
