View Full Version : WIP textures on my plane
01 January 2002, 07:56 PM
Just learning lightwave so here's some textures on my typhoon. Its not done yet (even close) and needs spec/bump maps so the highlight is too uniform, and right now the camo patern is mirrored
because I've just been texturing a half then mirroring it for test render purposed. Anyways, enough work in progress excuses, I'll post it again when its done. any critiques?

i think the model and the textures look great, i was wondering if youre putting a propeller on that(because its not a jet engine, just air intake ). IM currently modeling a Curtiss P-40 and is is very similar to your plane, and ive never seen guns come out that far, was that your touch or are they really like that , just wondering. id love to see more renders of that when youre done. :)
of course its just my opinion, i could be wrong.

the model is pretty acurate as far as detail goes. And yes I'm aware its a prop... lol. More specifically its a Hawker Typhoon Mk IB producing over 2,100 hp and armed with four Hispano 20 mm cannons (those are the buggers that stick out that far). I'm a huge aircraft nut so I can probably rant on about it for hours.
I'll definatly post when I get it closer to finished
