View Full Version : IK posing but FK animation?

Hey, I was wondering if there is a way to pose a skeleton with IK, but then have the animation interpolated based on the rotations of the joints rather than the position of the IK handle. It's easier to pose an arm with IK, but you want it to move along an arc, which means putting a keyframe in the middle of the two key poses anyway. It would be nice to get rotation curves rather than IK handle translation curves. That way you could keyframe an IK spine, but then off-set the curves of each joint in the curve editor to get overlapping action. Is there a simple answer for this? I'm finally trying to really learn about rigging after wrestling with trying to animate my models for so long.
